China is in the lead with 30 gold medals while the USA is in a distant second. Looks like China's hard  training has paid off. China's huge fan support also has helped them. Last time, I remember how the battle for the gold medals ended - it was so tight with both the USA and China getting over 50 gold medals. USA won it with a couple of gold medals more than China. Even though Micheal Phelps has won the USA 8 gold medal (a record) other USA athletes have missed the gold by a very small margin. USA athletes did not win any medal in the men's running races. Jamaican Hussain Bolt has won the 100 metres race and he is celebrated as the fastest man on Earth. He beat the world famous record of Asafa Powell by a huge margin. H. Bolt's performance was a super 9.69 seconds.
